Events are tailored to the age of the pupils in our Olympics Workshop
EYFS
Long Jump & Hurdles
Our workshops give children the opportunity to take part in two track and field events which have featured in every Olympic Games in history. Children will mirror reigning Olympic Champion Greg Rutherford in leaping as far as they can in the long jump, as well as testing their agility over a fun hurdles course.
Shooting
Shooting sports have been included in almost every Summer Olympic Games since beginning of the modern Olympics in 1896. In our RoadtoRio workshops, the shooting activity will help develop the children’s accuracy and skill as they aim to place a series of darts as close as possible to the centre of the target.
Volleyball
The average Olympic volleyball player jumps over 300 times in every game! In this energetic activity, children will work in small teams to learn how to defend their area, while scoring as many points as possible in each game.
Shot Put
The shot put is a test of strength, power and skill and has been a key event in each Olympic Games since 1896. In this activity, children will throw for distance and accuracy, by aiming for floor targets to score as many points as possible.
Cycling
In 2012, Chris Hoy became the most successful British Olympian of all time by winning his 6th cycling gold medal. Continuing the cycling legacy, children will enjoy using static bikes to cycle as far as they can against the clock!

Handball
The children will learn the techniques involved in this fast-paced game and compete in 3-a-side matches, where they will need to throw the ball beyond the benches to score as many points as possible like the world champions, France.
Cycling
Compete like Bradley Wiggins in this popular Cycling Olympic sport, where the children will compete to achieve the fastest time covering a certain distance. The children will use a static bike and will work as a team to score the highest points.
Kombat (boxing)
Children will learn the skills and techniques involved in this non-contact sport. They will be wearing pads and gloves and the match will consist of the jabbing technique that they will learn prior to competing between each other, the winner scoring the highest points.
Key Stage 2
